AhoySet BBQ!

Yeah immediately after my scouts camp we had our AhoySet gathering. As soon as we reach BBQ pit 8, I got served! Yeah. There's noodles by fattrui and also, a dish by Huda's Mum! Wow it's totally nice and spicy. So tasty! Then we also have agar agar. Then BBQ chicken and satay. I'm the fanning man while weikang is the cook! Well i was reminded of a primary school song! The satay man song! ~do you know the satay man, satay man, satay man~ lol ^^ Then we have our water balloon fight! I threw lots huachong, he's totally wet. HEHE :D Ran around and throwing around, it's so fun. Then after the whole thing ends, some of us went around collecting the plastic bags left on the ground. After most of us got wet, we had our cake session! We all gathered around the cake and did our cheer and songs. Then eat the cake! Wow it's yummy! Around 9pm +, most of us went home except for me, sean, fattrui, dingfeng, syazana. We cleared the whole place and went home on dingfeng's lorry. At the back of his lorry, we played truth! Fattrui asked who we'll date if given a chance. Hoho I know everyone's secret, those that stayed behind and clean up one. Well they know mine anyway. lol :D Well what a great night! :D I'll be looking forward to more gatherings. Well this is what i hope for. We maybe can have a overnight camp with Ahoyset, and maybe when we all grow up, we can have our gathering overseas! Yay I'm sure it'll be fun! HEHHE^^

PLTC!

Well Well... I'm back from PLTC! WOOHHOO! PLTC '09 at west coast park. What is unforgettable is not the camp itself, but my team. Oh they're really awsome! :D We have a stalker-Alvin. First day I met him, he know me very well even though I've not introduce to him yet. He knows my blog, my friends like Shengyang, and my other friend's blog. He sure knows me! Then we have a lover-Jiahao and Henghui. Actually it all started when we're attending a lesson that is so boring that we started plucking grass. We all know the henghui is allergic to grass so Jiahao started plucking grass and throw at henghui, and she also started throwing back. Then i say fighting is a way to show love, cause after fighting there'll surely be love. Then throughout the camp all of us keep saying that both like each other which in fact was just a joke. lol.

Day 1
Gathered at west coast park at 7.30 am. Camp Chief is Desmond. Well as expected, the camp is totally the same style as the councilor's style of camp. Well it's not too hard anyway. So we hike to our campsite, a place far far away from Macdonald. Overall the campsite is not bad. We have a pond nearby, far away from the main playground in west coast park, quite quiet. The only thing is that we're very near the containers working area. The machine is working 24 hours non-stop, it's so noisy. lols. So first we had our first lesson-orienteering. The lesson is very boring. So Nigel, Derek and I play with sticks fallen from the tress and insects that passed by. After that we had our second lesson-Planning a scout meeting. Well the lesson is also boring. So the three of us keep joking around and throw sticks into each of our clothes. heheh ^^ After that we have another lesson on leadership. Well this lesson is by adrian and I've heard his lesson alot of times already. So I went dozing off while Nigel played with me. When I was sleeping, Nigel took my hand and the pen that I'm holding onto and drew on my book. He drew a face plus "I am weijun, I am awake." lol this is so funny and I didn't realised this. Then our patrol challenge. I got so wet by Mingtat. We're blindfoldered and had to pass cups of water front to back, back to front. I don't want others to get wet, so i pour away the water before passing on. Mintat then asked why all the cups don't have water and i think he found out that it was me that pour away the water. So he go pour water on me. Well its fun anyway. Then next lesson is Patrol system by a leader from hongkah sec. He is Simply boring, including the lesson too. And anyway we're sitting on the grass. So I started plucking grass and and bury my whole book with grass. It's totally covered with grass. LOL it's so fun. The Jiahaoa and henghui is plucking grass and throwing at each other. Then i say they will blossom love soon because all shows also shows a couple fighting and at the end become lovers. This became our joke in my team. Then night fall and we pitch our tent in the dark. This is totally cool. lol :D Then lights out! we have 5 person squeezing in a tent. Me, Nigel, Derek, Keefe, benedict were in one. Then Keefe spammed the whole tent with deodorant. wow nice smelling. lol. The whole night i can't sleep because of the machine working nearby. So i woke at around 2 and went to the toilet with mintat. 2 am and i saw a old man jogging. This is the power of the youth! WOOHOO! :D

Day 2
Rise and shine? Not quite. We're suppose to wake at 7am. But at around 6am+ it started raining. So we were woken up and had to carry all our things and bags and hike to the underpass. We have nothing to do there. Eugene then asked us to sew our PLTC badge onto our uniform. I took the whole of 1 hour to sew it on. Well it's nicely sew on i would say! Yay me! Then exactly at 7am the rain stopped and we carried all our bags back to the campsite. Then our PT continued. Then lesson 3, role of a PL. Well this lesson is boring too. I doze off yeah. After lunch is lesson by patrol 5, first aid! This is the best lesson I've ever attended. Very fun. At a point, Keefe and derek wanted to demostrate a carrying method. Keefe carried derek like how a couple, the men will carry the female when married. Then Keefe carried derek this way, but then keefe slipped and fell on his butt, while derek fell on him. Everyone laughed. Then everyone says that this is not a good thing to do during first aid, but a good thing to do when married! Then our lesson - tracking and trapping. Such a pitty. What a interesting topic yet everyone says its boring. Well i guess all i have to say is that they're too used to be in singapore. Well If i was given a chance, I would surely go overseas and meet the scouts overseas. Then I'll camp with them for a week or so and get to enjoy what they would usually do in a camp! I'm sure this is very fun. Then I would also want to go for a survival in a 3 men team. Preferbly in a forest. yeah! Next is campfire. Well it's boring. A campfire with no fire and all we had is singing songs then end. Nothing much actually. Then after that we had our SOLO night, in a 2 men team! I was teamed with Zifan from Fuhua sec. Our solo night is actually observation post. This means that we have to stay covered while looking out, something like centry duty. Our location was a place where there's a low lying tree growing outwards. Then all we can do is to lie down, or else we'll be seen. We cannot be seen or we'll become prisoners of war where we'll be forced to do stupid things. Well the whole place was ant infested. We have no choice but to lie among them. At first, we got so itchy that we keep scratching ourselves. Meanwhile, we were recording things that happened within our observation area. Throughout the whole night, only a group of people walk by, then nothing else. So at around 3am, both of us fell asleep until 6 am. A rover from yuanching woke us up and asked us to go back cause the whole thing ended. Yeah! we managed to get through the whole night with ants and not getting caught, while sleeping throughout. lols :D

Day 3
PT was conducted by adrian. We have our 15mins run at our own pace. All of us started running and at lap 2, it's me and daniel taking the lead. Both of us keep over-taking each other. Then soon after a while, I ran totally ahead and I'm in the lead! When i came back at the starting point, we're still left with 5 mins. So I ran another lap myself. When I came back to the starting point, almost everyone was there already. Well I'm so happy that I managed to run 3 laps! (: Then Lesson 4-K.O.M. Well I think it's still ok cause this guy who conducted this lesson is totally cool. He's way different from the rest of the campstaffs and so relaxed. After that is lesson by patrol 7-camp craft. Well not that boring cause there's no theory lesson and all is hands-on. Then after the lesson, we have our area cleaning. My patrol was cleaning the toilet. We treat this cleaning into a game. We collected water in a bucket and see who can make the dirt in the holes. Each person only have a turn. lol we're also splashing water all around! Then camp break! Woohoo!
I would say, this camp is still ok, well at least I'm in a pretty much interesting patrol. Throughout the whole camp, my patrol keep talking about obsene things in malay. Well i only understand what they're talking about after they translated to me. lol.

NACLI!

I would say, this is the best camp I've ever participated since a councilor. I can still remember the first councilor camp that I attended-Induction camp, it was a harsh beginning. And to my own perspective, the best way to nurture a student leader, is not by strictness but the way how NACLI held their camp and learn through fun and laughter.

1st day - 3rd of June
Alighted the train at Jurong East station with some Ahoyset-tians coming from Boonlay station. Headed to Bouna Vista and NACLI campsite. Inside NACLI, we went to Thinking terrance 2 and met Mr.Jufry. Then had our activities and Captain's ball! It was very fun! Instead of just having 2 chairs and 2 groups playing with each other, this time we had 3 chairs and 3 groups playing at the same time! Well it's quite messy at first, but we still played very well! Then at night, we had our preparations for the Youth Leader's Night that is on the following day. We disscussed until supper time, then Farah and I Sparred in the room. lol the taekwondo way. Free and easy time, we had our NACLI WAR! lols hahahas :D We went to Fatt Rui's room and had our pillow fight!

2nd day - 4th of June
Jiajun woke me up. Then wash up and went down to the learning lounge for morning assembly, since it was drizzling outside. We played some games with Crescent Girls school. Most memorable one, I guess it's the "Evolution Game". hahas^^ All of us started as an egg, then must find other people of the same and play "scissors, paper, stone". If win, we'll get to evolve into a chicken, then an eagle, then superman/women, then ultraman, then immortal. Immortal means you win. Lols.. I think this game is not bad after all. Breakfast and after that, we have our game sessions. Through all these games, we earned points which will be needed for our first project, Build a catapult! These points are needed to purchase materials needed to construct our catault. Then after lunch is our Project time. We built our catapult but due to time constraint, my group couldn't finish it in time, so it was in separate parts. Time for competition, see which group can shoot further. Aziz is the launcher. He pulled the pole down so hard that the pole broke into 2.. Guess the pole is just too weak! lols ^^ Night time and we have our Youth Leader's Night! Yeah the best event in this camp! :D We have 2 emcee, one from Crescent Girl school and Caroline! from our school. Both of them were great! Then we have our skits and dances, same goes for the Crescent Girls school. That night was very fun and enjoyable! At the end of the Youth Leader's Night, we sang " love story" to extend our lights out time. It Was marvellous! ^^ After that went back to our rooms. Something unexpected happened. Just when I was thinking to go bathe, the whole of level 3 blackout! Many of us gathered outside, some sat down to have a game. Ms vati came and solved this, finally I got my bathe! lols hehehe :D

3rd day - 5th of June
Woke up myself this time! Then went down to parade square for morning exercise. Sang our National Enthem and school song, then proceeded for Breakfast. After that, Project 2! It's YOG, Youth Olympic Game. I'm a manager for this YOG, including Iyadh. We have 3 games - Captains ball, Poison ball, battlefield. It was very fun, being both a player and manager. Hooray! :D After lunch, we had a lesson of "Love". Not bad.. Then Jufry debriefed us for the YOG. We then played "guess the cartoon character" game. Each of us will have cartoon characters pasted on our backs. Then we have to ask other people to help us guess the cartoon character at the back. They can only say yes or no. Mine Is Daisy Duck! Took me quite a while to answer this cause it's been a long time since i watched Mickey Mouse and friends. hehhehe^^ Caroline got Donald Duck, the opposite gender of mine! :D Also, we had a little game. One will be holding on to a ball of strings. He/She have to answer the questions that Jufry wrote, then pass the ball of strings to other people. In the end, he told us that we were bonded, just like the strings that is connecting us to each and everyone. After that had a group photo-taking and BREAK CAMP! Followed some to Jurong Point and had our dinner there.

This is surely the best camp, and the best 3 days we ever spent together in a camp! I think it'll be great if our own councilor's camp can be as leisure as this, meanwhile learn alot of things. How I wish we could stay longer in NACLI..
Well nevertheless, Three cheers for NACLI! :D
